For UK doctors and GPs

Your tax year, ready to check.

Scan your payslips, invoices and receipts. Taxdose reads them, you confirm each record, and it prepares your Self Assessment and P87 drafts for you to check and send.

How it works

Three steps, and you stay in charge of each one.

  1. Step 1

    Scan or import

Photograph payslips, receipts and paper invoices, or import PDFs and bank statements. Several pages become one document.

  2. Step 2

    Confirm each record

Taxdose reads each document and shows you what it found, next to the original. Nothing counts until you've confirmed it.

  3. Step 3

    Get your drafts

It works out what you can claim and prepares Self Assessment and P87 drafts as PDFs. You check them and send them yourself.

What it covers

Built around how doctors are actually paid.

Salaried, locum or both. Taxdose knows the documents a UK doctor collects in a year, and the costs you may be able to claim.

  • Payslips, P60 and P45

Salaried NHS and private work, PAYE and pension contributions, across one or several employers.

  • Locum invoices

Fees from locum sessions, kept with the invoice you sent and the date you were paid.

  • Money owed

Matches payments in your bank statements to your locum invoices, so you can see what's still unpaid.

  • Receipts and expenses

Courses, exams, equipment and other costs of your work, each tied to its receipt.

  • Professional fees

GMC, BMA, RCGP and indemnity documents, recognised for what they are.

  • Business mileage, one tap

Start a journey from the app, a widget or Siri and Taxdose logs the miles. You mark each one business, commute or personal.

  • Bank statements

Imported to match the payments you received to the invoices you sent.

  • Self Assessment and P87

Drafts as PDFs, for salaried, locum and mixed work, ready for you to check and send.

What Taxdose doesn’t do

  • It isn’t tax advice. For complicated situations, talk to an accountant.
  • It never submits to HMRC. You check the drafts and send them yourself.
  • It won’t pretend. Cases it doesn’t support are named, not guessed.

Privacy promise

Your finances stay on your phone.

A year of payslips and bank statements says a lot about you. So Taxdose keeps it where you can see it.

How AI reading worksPrivacy policy

  • Records stay on your phone

Your documents and records are stored on your phone, encrypted. They aren't kept on our servers.

  • No account needed

Open the app and start. There's no sign-up, and no email address to hand over.

  • AI reading is your choice

Optional, per document. Before anything is sent, you see exactly what will go, with personal details blacked out.

Accuracy promise

We'd rather ask than guess.

Taxdose is built never to be sure and wrong. If it isn't certain about a date, an amount or what a document is, it marks the record “check” and asks you.

  • Every figure links back to the document it came from.
  • Arithmetic and tax rules are fixed calculations, not AI.
  • Missing facts and unsupported cases are named plainly.

Questions

Good to know

More answers on the support page.

Who is Taxdose for?

UK doctors and GPs: salaried, locum, or a mix of both. It understands payslips and P60s from NHS employers, locum invoices, and the professional costs doctors usually pay, such as GMC, BMA, RCGP and indemnity.

Does Taxdose submit my tax return?

No. Taxdose prepares Self Assessment and P87 drafts as PDFs. You check them and send them to HMRC yourself. Taxdose never submits anything to HMRC on your behalf.

Is this tax advice?

No. Taxdose works out supported figures from the records you confirm, using fixed rules rather than guesswork, and tells you when something is outside what it supports. If your situation is complicated, speak to an accountant or tax adviser.

Where are my records kept?

On your phone, encrypted. You don't need an account to use Taxdose, and your records are not stored on our servers.

What happens with AI reading?

It's optional and you choose it per document. Before anything is sent, Taxdose shows you exactly what will be sent, with personal details blacked out. You can always type a record in or let the phone read it instead.

What does it cost?

Taxdose is free until you create your first PDF. After that it's one plan, Taxdose Pro, at £49.99 a year, with your first year at £29.99 for new subscribers. It renews automatically each year, and you can cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play settings. AI reading is included, within fair use.
