Taxdose, by Praelion Ltd, has no accounts. Your records live on your phone, so you're in control of deleting them. If you've used AI reading, our server also holds a little information linked to a random ID. Here's how to delete all of it.
The quick way: Delete all data in the app
- Open Taxdose and unlock it.
- Go to Settings › Delete all data.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then confirm once more.
What it deletes on your phone
- every record, answer and check you've made;
- every document and original photo you've added;
- your drafts and the PDFs made from them;
- your mileage journeys, and any recording in progress (it stops first);
- your settings, including one-tap journeys and widgets;
- the Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint unlock key;
- the encrypted database and its key;
- the sign-in Taxdose uses for AI reading.
It can't be undone.
What it asks our server to delete
If you've used AI reading on this phone, Delete all data first asks our server to delete what it holds for your random ID. In one step, our server:
- withdraws your AI agreement, so nothing more can be sent;
- removes the link between your random ID and your page counts, and clears the kind of document and the AI details from them. The bare counts (time, pages, cost and the store's purchase reference, if any) stay until the end of the following tax year, because they keep each subscription's yearly allowance and our spending limits correct;
- removes the link to any subscription, and deletes the subscription record if no other phone uses it;
- deletes any device check records.
What we keep
- Your agreement records: the dated record of when you agreed to AI reading and when you withdrew. They're our proof of what you agreed to, so we keep them for 6 years after the last one, then delete them. They're linked only to the random ID, not to your name.
- Short-term logs held by our hosting provider, which expire on their own.
- Anything outside Taxdose: backups you've saved (in Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or on a computer), and PDFs or spreadsheets you've shared. Delete those yourself if you want them gone. Anyone with a backup and its passphrase can still restore it.
If you can't use the app
Our server step needs your phone to be online. If it can't reach our server within a few seconds, your phone is still wiped, but our server may still hold your records.
To be safe, before you delete, note your AI reading ID from Settings › Your choices. Then:
- Email privacy@praelion.com from any address.
- Include your full AI reading ID, and say you'd like your Taxdose server data deleted.
- We'll reply within one month, and usually much sooner. We'll delete or unlink everything above, and keep only your agreement records, as explained.
We don't know who you are, so we can't find your records without the ID. If you've lost it (for example, because you uninstalled Taxdose), we can't link any record to you. Your page counts are then unlinked from your random ID after the current and previous tax year, and your agreement records are deleted 6 years after the last one.
If you've never used AI reading
Our server holds nothing about you. Delete all data removes everything Taxdose keeps on your phone. Uninstalling Taxdose also removes your records, though on iPhone a few small items held in the phone's secure storage (such as the Face ID unlock key) can stay behind until you reinstall and use Delete all data, or reset the phone.
Your subscription
Deleting your data doesn't cancel your Taxdose Pro subscription, because Apple or Google bill it.
- iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
- Android: Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
Questions
Email privacy@praelion.com. Our privacy notice explains everything we hold and why.
You can also ask us for a copy of what our server holds for your random ID, in the same way. If you're unhappy with how we've handled a request, the privacy notice explains how to complain to us (we acknowledge complaints within 30 days) and to the ICO.
